It's almost Christmas!
Okay, so we have a few months to go, but it's more close than far, right??? My husband asked me to start making some Christmas cards for him and in return he would by a couple of paper packs for me-DEAL!
This was the first one I made. It's not the look I was going for but I love it. It turned out more vintage than I usually go.
I sprayed the image and the ribbon with my olive re-inker so it would all match perfectly and it gave it a vintage feel at the same time.

Stamp Organization
Pin It
I've seen a lot of people looking for a way to store their stamps. CTMH recently changed how they "organize" and label their stamps and that put a lot of chaos in things for a lot of people, but it really reinforced the way I store my stamps.
I have a stamp binder that holds my stamp categories, WOTG pages and my Make it from your Heart book as well as pages straight from the catalogs, all color coded and alphabetized! So sit back and enjoy, as this post will be very picture heavy!
I put all of my stamps into a container I got at JoAnn's. I took them out of the plastic sleeves and numbered all the stamps starting with "1" all the way to "170" at this moment. All the stamps have the number put on with a label maker and then each paper inset has the stamp name, number and which catalog it was in.
Here is my binder, plain but functional.
I have my recipe index in the first part so I can reference it easily if needed-
Next is my alphabetized themes.
You can either take the stamps off the sheet and scan the image in and crop that way or you can use the catalog since they are actual size. I prefer to have them actual size any way I do it so that I can make sure my image will fit prior to getting the stamp set out. I have almost 200 pages once printed.
Another option is to stamp directly onto a sheet of paper. I started by doing it that way but became bored.
I have the following (some stamps fit into more than one category:
Animals
Baby/children
Birthday
Boys
Bugs and Butterflies
Calendar? ABCs & 123's
Congratulations
Cooking
Family
Floral
Flourishes
Friendship
Girls
Love (this includes all wedding, anniversary, etc)
Military
Money
Music
Outdoor
Religion
School
Sentiments (the ones that do not fit into another category)

All the holidays go into the following sections:
Spring
Summer
Fall
Winter
All the stamps on the sheet have the number near it for easy reference.
After my categories I have pages from the catalogs themselves with the number of the stamp on them. I highlighted the top corner of the pages with the catalog and whats missing is my alphabetized reference list of every single stamp in the last three catalogs (AW2011, SS2012, and AW2012) all highlighted with either blue, pink or green depending on the Idea Book it was in.
Next are my WOTG guides. I cut the inside page a little so that I could hole punch them and open it without having to take it out of the binder.
The very last part is the Make from your Heart book:
My inks are stored in an old tape cassette holder I found at a thrift shop for a dollar. I put some purple ribbon on it to make it more pretty. All of the current colors are labeled on the side with a number 1-69- the retired ones I can still use on my personal things but the current ones are right where I can see them.
I hope this all made sense- please leave your comments on how you store your stamps-
PS - I will be showing how I organize my copics and which colors match with Copics.

Liebster Award ---
Pin It
I got a great award the other day and because I hadn't had time to fulfill it, I let it sit for a few days :)
So first, thank you Terry for the award- now to copy what you wrote :)
A little about the Liebster. This is how it works...
Liebster is a German word meaning "Beloved," "Favorite," or "Dearest." This award is a peer to peer award in which fellow bloggers present the award to their favorite bloggers with less than 200 followers. The origins of this award is unclear, but is believed to have originated by a German blogger. This award was designed to be a blog award in the pay it forward fashion to share your dearest and most beloved blogs that have less than 200 followers.
RULES FOR ACCEPTANCE
Thank the person who gave you the award and link back to their blog. Post the award onto your blog .Give the award to five bloggers who you appreciate that have less than 200 followers. Leave a comment on their blog letting them know that you have given them this awesome award!
One of the fun things about recieving this award is that it challenges you to view more blogs,

and brighten their day--just a bit--my acknowledging their talent.

CTMH Halloween Card
Pin It
Halloween is coming up soon-summer went to fast and seems like it was only here for a month, unlike the rest of the country ours came late. It's time to work on fall cards and projects and this is my first for the year!
For this card I used the WOTG Moonlight and the stamp set All Hallows Eve-
For the stamp on the front, I used the Art Philosophy cartridge. The rose was made with the Artiste cartridge, along with the medallion that is under the ribbon.
CTMH does not have any black ribbon so I colored the color-ready ribbon with black ink. Around the edge, I used some stickles. The ink colors were black and autumn terracotta. I cut out the crow and layered it on top of the stamped image to give it some dimension.
This card is 6X6 with the inside done - avail for sale for $10 - email if interested.

CTMH Bookmark Album
Pin It
I have been a horrible blogger of recent and I apologize! We were supposed to move up to Washing (Seattle area) because my husband got a job up there that was supposed to start today after the place he worked at closed. We packed everything up and sold anything that wouldn't fit in our little Uhaul, even our couch. We had a horrible time trying to find a place to live since we only had one income. Then he got a call from Consumer Cellular and they wanted him to work there as a supervisor-he didn't even apply there- soooo we are staying! I had to unpack and get back to normal. We are excited we are not moving and my husband has a job now, well soon-it starts September 10.
Anyway, I'm back and have done some projects. This first one is a Bookmark Album that I stuffed so many paper layers in, it won't shut and I had to use bigger rings :)
I will list all the ingredients at the end of this post...
Some basic tools you may already have, such as inks, stamp blocks, or tools are needed to complete this project. The Cricut® Artiste cartridge is also required (Cricut® Artiste Collection Z1790).

I was hoping that the BOO would show up on the front, but I have to find an alternative way to close it because I stuffed it full of paper and embellishments:
My goal is to add last years Halloween pics into this album. Stryder and I were at the Mayo clinic for Halloween last year so I have lots of him, but none of Kasiah. This year we will be in Baltimore so I won't have any of Kasiah this year too. But I do have a great sister in law that took lots of pics and will be sending them to me.
I used liquid glass over the "2011" to make it seem more like glass in a frame.
I love the Artiste cartridge! I used it all through the book.
This flower was also made using the artiste cartridge- I love the dimension but thought it was the reason my book was not closing so I took it out for a check and it still didn't close so I put it back.
This bow is my new favorite on the cartridge- I heart it so much!
I used a stamp to make the ribbon match- I then sewed it down the middle for some dimension. I used the stamp ribbon on the tag too, so it sticks out and gives it a great look while matching perfectly.
I took some of the scraps and sewed them all together for the last page; it turned out to be one of my favorite pages.
I hope you liked my book - please leave a comment if it inspired you and I would love to see what your bookmark album looks like!
